Dale Felton is a trial specialist, Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is a Past President of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Felton has served as lead attorney in over 100 jury trials and 150 bench trials. He has also handled numerous appeals, including cases before the Texas Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Felton has represented hundreds of injured individuals and their families in suits to recover damages due to negligence from corporate giants such as Dixie Carryall, Ford Motor Co., Greater Houston Transportation Co., The Hertz Corp., Houston Lighting & Power, J. I. Case Co., Liberty Cab Co., Malone Trucking Co., Mitisubishi Motors Corp., and Timmers Chevrolet.
Mr. Felton is an insurance law expert and is considered one of the nation’s leading policyholder advocates.
Mr. Felton has taken on big insurance companies like Allstate, Farmers, GEICO, and State Farm. His case before the Texas Supreme Court, Arnold v. National County Mutual Fire Ins. Co., established the law of bad faith in Texas. That case holds that an insurance company owes its insureds a duty of good faith and fair dealing, and that an insured may sue the insurance company if the insurance company does not treat the insured fairly.
Dale Felton is also considered by many to be the foremost authority on the handling and trial of car wreck cases in the United States. He taught accident reconstruction at Texas A&M for over a decade. He also taught seminars to lawyers on the scientific principles of accident reconstruction and analysis for over 20 years. He is a master in proving the scientific causes of vehicular accidents, and has been called upon to testify as an accident reconstruction expert in behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants.
